What is a Sober Living Home?

Sober living is a residential housing program that Mahajan Therapeutics offers to help your recovery journey and long-term goals. Addiction can take everything from you until you enter treatment, including your family and home life. It can be difficult to regain your bearings, and sometimes, a little extra assistance can make all the difference.

Those who find themselves without a dependable place to live, free of substances and constant triggers, will feel safe here. Our sober living homes in Ohio are regulated to ensure that residents are not a threat to each other, especially among roommates.

Many of our clients are moving on from residential treatment and require the accountability and assistance that sober living provides. Our program helps our clientele build the structure that becomes foundational to their sobriety and future.

Upon establishing daily routines and recovery exercises, residents often build the confidence and strength to move forward. With job experience and consistent counseling, you, too, can prepare yourself to start your next chapter. Our sober living facilities are just a pit stop before you advance and take hold of the rest of your life.

How Long Do I Stay?

Our sober living program begins with a three-month stay. If you are successful in group and individual counseling, you can extend your stay for another six months. Other factors, including regular drug screening and community involvement, also help ensure your stay. If you are successful in group and individual counseling, you can extend your time for another six months. Other factors are also at play to ensure your stay, including regular drug screening and community involvement.

You will also be required to secure some kind of employment or volunteer work to make use of your time. Your ability to adhere to these guidelines will keep you and other residents safe.

Mahajan Therapeutics’ goal is to provide care that helps you succeed in the real world. We believe in your future. Acting to establish a twelve-step recovery is crucial. By working together, we ensure you have a sponsor, housing, and employment before you leave.

Can I Work while in Sober Living?

Yes. In fact, this is a major component of sober living. We ask that you work or volunteer so that your time is productive and healthy routines are in place. We will not allow you to self-isolate or sleep your days away. Recovery means re-entering society as a productive member who can thrive on their own.

Jobs, even if part-time, help keep you accountable and busy. We charge affordable rent to our clients, which makes employment necessary. However, we only begin collecting rent after the second week of your stay. This way, you have time to get on your feet financially and vocationally.

Residents who are unable to work can find jobs within the facility, mostly volunteering. Those on assisted living can also find ways to contribute to the recovery community. Our goal is to ensure all residents are working towards their future and building skills to move on.

Can I See My Family?

You absolutely can see your family! We believe in the power of family structures and relationships. Rebuilding connections with loved ones can be challenging after facing the trials and tribulations of addiction.

We want to help you succeed in healing these relations and embracing the support you have in your life. This is why we allow you the freedom to come and go as you please to see your family and attend to your responsibilities. Although there is a curfew, there are allowances made for residents who must travel in the form of overnight passes.

We also offer a FREE “family night” for all clients who can attend ! These events occur on the second and fourth Monday of each month. Many residents fondly look forward to these events to showcase how much progress they are making.

What Will I Do in Sober Living?

We do not offer inpatient treatment or transitional inpatient treatment, but we are still a crucial part of recovery. Our program centers on the twelve steps of sobriety. We also offer (and require) group and individual therapy sessions.

In addition to counseling, we also have meditation and mindfulness programs that are incredibly useful. Regular drug screening and chores are mandatory, as they help keep you accountable and engaged.

Most of all, you should use your time in sober living to prepare yourself for the days to come. This is an intermediate step that will springboard you into your future. Many former residents have achieved their recovery goals upon their stays and are proud of their achievements.
